This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in English through the development of two essential receptive skills: listening and reading. These skills constitute the core of language acquisition, as comprehension must precede production. By strengthening their listening and reading abilities, students will enhance their capacity to follow spoken interactions, interpret written texts, and make connections between ideas in diverse communicative contexts.
The module adopts a flexible, technology-enhanced learning approach through the use of online resources, including short videos, interviews, articles, and case studies. This format enables students to engage with authentic materials at their own pace, revisit content as needed, and progressively build linguistic competence and confidence.
Each session concludes with an online evaluation designed to assess comprehension and provide formative feedback. These regular assessments allow students to monitor their progress and identify specific areas for improvement.
The course content is situated within a professional and business context, addressing topics such as negotiation, entrepreneurship, logistics, corporate culture, and finance. This ensures that language development is aligned with real-world applications and professional communication needs.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will have improved their overall comprehension skills and developed the ability to access, analyze, and understand authentic English materials—an essential competency for academic advancement and future professional endeavors.
