This course introduces students to the key concepts, actors, and mechanisms of economic diplomacy, a vital dimension of international relations that links economics and foreign policy. It explores how governments, international organizations, and private actors use diplomacy to promote national economic interests, attract foreign investment, secure markets, and enhance global competitiveness.
Through a combination of theoretical frameworks, case studies, and practical discussions, students will examine the evolution of economic diplomacy in a globalized world, with a particular focus on Algeria’s economic partnerships and regional strategies.
By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze international economic negotiations, understand the tools and challenges of commercial diplomacy, and apply these concepts to real-world contexts involving trade, investment, and sustainable development.
