School of Higher Commercial Studies (HEC Algiers) honored in an international competition on sustainable Supply chain

The School of Higher Commercial Studies (HEC Algiers) was recently honored with a Certificate of  Recognition awarded by the organizing committee of the 2024 Global Sustainability Supply Chain Student Competition. This distinction highlights the exemplary participation of our institution and the commitment of our students to addressing global supply chain sustainability challenges.
The competition brought together 84 university teams from around the world, with the objective of developing innovative solutions to real-world supply chain issues, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The team, composed of Lilia Benadjel (HEC Algiers) and Jarod Dantas (University of Rhode Island, USA), successfully advanced through the stages of the competition and reached Round 2. A total of 42 out of 84 teams reached this phase, including EHEC.
Under the guidance of Professor Farès Boubakour (HEC Algiers) and Professor Koray Ozpolat (University of Rhode Island, USA), the students demonstrated their ability to develop an innovative AI-based solution to a real-life case challenge (SF Express), while incorporating the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainability. The competition lasted three months and required numerous working sessions, coordination meetings, and evaluations supervised by both
professors.
A ceremony was held at HEC in the presence of Professor Amal Kasmi, Director of the School, student Lilia Benadjel, and Professor Farès Boubakour to celebrate this achievement.
We warmly thank the Global Supply Chain Classroom, as well as partner  organizations (FIATA,
International Center for Transport Diplomacy), for their support and for enabling our students to take part in this enriching international experience.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Farès Boubakour and student Lilia Benadjel for their dedication and outstanding performance.
